Trina Solar, a Chinese enterprise in Photovoltaic module and smart energy solutions, decided to inject an additional $420 million into its ongoing projects in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, said Jifan Gao, Chairman and General Manager of Trina Solar.

RSL Group – The Chinese group decided to invest additional $420 million in the northern province, making Viet Nam the group’s largest investment destination abroad in the photovoltaic field.
At a meeting with leaders of the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province (afternoon of November 5), Trina Solar Group proposed implementing phase 3 of the Energy Development Plant Project in Thai Nguyen with an expected investment of 420 million USD. This is the Group’s largest investment abroad in the field of photovoltaics.
Through research and surveys, Trina Solar wishes to continue to invest in Yen Binh Indtrial Park, Thai Nguyen Province. This is also where 2 factories (phase 1 and phase 2 with a total registered investment capital of 478 million USD) are operating stably.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran luu Quang welcomed the group’s investment expansion plan, saying renewable energy development is part of Viet Nam’s efforts to realize its commitment to net zero gas emissions by 2050.
He said Vietnam is building and promulgating specific mechanisms and policies to spur the development of renewable energy, including solar energy.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that the group help Vietnamese binesses to engage in the global supply chain in general as well as its supply chain in particular.
